DURO INDUSTRIES, a family run business, in 1970 had its origin as a trading company, Ramu Auto Electrical Works, involved in trading of all kinds of batteries. The year 1980 saw the company taking an exclusive agency for Exide Battery and this agency ran in the name of “SAKTHI MURUGAN AGENCIES”. The trading of all other batteries under the brand Ram Auto Electrical Works continued and both businesses were flourishing. The company became an established brand in a very short span of time making a unique name for itself and becoming a popular brand and dealer for Batteries.

Under the able administration of its founder, Shri. L M Ramasamy, SAKTHI MURUGAN AGENCIES soon became a household name. Shri. L M Ramasamy with his complete dedication and great experience in the field elevated the company to a stature of being a leader in the industry with a prominent name for itself.

In the year 2002, the companies continued to grow at a great pace, and “RAM battery” became a distributor for batteries, as well as UPS all over India.

With all the experience gained in these years with battery distribution and running of agencies, the principles started a company for the manufacture of Automotive and Industrial batteries and engaging in distribution of these products nationwide.

2006 saw the emergence of “MR METAL” a unit engaged in the recycling of old batteries. This further evolved and the company started the manufacture of Lead and Lead Alloys which they supplied to battery manufacturing companies. MR METAL ensured a client centric approach to facilitate effective delivery of Integrated Automotive and Industrial Lead –Acid Batteries.
